Civic education and electoral integrity are recognized as fundamental pillars of Namibia’s democracy. Strengthening these pillars requires citizens, particularly youth, to understand their rights, roles, and responsibilities within the democratic process. In pursuit of this goal, the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) hosts comprehensive Election Observation Training programmes at the House of Democracy in Windhoek.
Since its inception, NID had consistently advanced election observation and civic education, building credibility and expertise in this field.
- These initiative is made possible by key project partners, whose contributions strengthened both the quality and reach of the training:
Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), the Delegation of Flanders, South Africa. Embassy of Switzerland, South Africa, Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), and Democracy Works Foundation.
- The 2025 election observer mission programme continued this tradition, equipping participants with the knowledge, tools, and practical skills needed to effectively observe the Regional Council and Local Authority Elections.
